Live Workshop! Mastering Domestic Violence Screening
Join Abbie Godles for a hands-on domestic violence screening training. Learn about the importance of screening all clients, including recent updates to the AFCC Model Standards. The main session features realistic role-plays with various screening tools, demonstrating effective approaches for any instrument. We'll compare rapid and comprehensive measures, highlighting the only tool specifically designed for mediators. This interactive workshop welcomes your questions and will help you build confidence in compassionately and accurately assessing domestic violence situations.
Abbie L. Godles received her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and her M.S. in Forensic Psychology, with a concentration in family violence, from Walden University. Abbie’s practice revolves around conflict resolution, mediation, and legal document drafting for divorce and family law matters, including LGBTQ+-specific issues and cases with a history of domestic violence. As a family mediator, Abbie brings her training and education in both law and psychology, which helps her navigate difficult and sensitive issues for her clients. With a unique approach that includes a focus on holistic outcomes, Abbie seeks to provide affordable assistance and workable solutions in both the mediation and litigation arenas for her clients. Abbie strives to empower her clients while supporting their self-determination during mediation and ensuring their rights are protected during legal document drafting.
This workshop is designed for lawyers, mental health practitioners and mediators of all levels and may meet the continuing education requirements for domestic violence training for the Maricopa County Superior Court Family Court judge pro tem roster.
