Standards of Membership
The Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators requires that its
members meet rigorous professional standards, using the same criteria
as Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR)
Advanced Family Practitioner Members Meet
the following minimum requirements:
- 60 hours of mediation training
conforming to the requirements of the Association for Conflict
Resolution (ACR).
- Two years of experience as
a mediator; 250 hours of face-to-face family mediation; 25 family
cases.
- Submission of 6 sample memoranda,
or other documentation from the required cases.
- 20 hours of continuing education
every two years after completing the above
- Membership in-good-standing
with the ACR
- Maintain mediation malpractice
insurance
- Uphold the professional Standards & Practices
of the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators
- Uphold the professional Code
of Ethics of the ACR
Practitioner Members must
meet the following minimum requirements:
- 40 hours of mediation training
conforming to the requirements of the Association for Conflict
Resolution (ACR).
- Professional Membership in-good-standing
with the ACR
- Maintain mediation malpractice
insurance
- Uphold the professional Standards & Practices
of the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators
- Uphold the professional Code
of Ethics of the ACR
Associate Members are
encouraged to join.
Associate Membership shall be available to any person
supportive of mediation but does not practice in the area of family
mediation. Associate Members shall not be entitled to vote in Association
affairs nor will their name appear in any list that is made available
outside the Association. |
